Our CSA Program

The Cates Corner Farm CSA Program for the 2023 growing season is now open. With more than 40 varieties of fresh produce, the Cates Corner Farm CSA enables you to have a taste of all things growing here at the farm. All produce is grown using all natural practices without the use of pesticides, herbicides or fungicides.

Benefits

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a production and marketing model where consumers buy shares of a farm’s harvest in advance. Consumers become CSA members by paying an agreed amount at the beginning of the growing season. This upfront payment helps buy the seed and other inputs needed for the season and provides the farmer an immediate income to begin the season.

By paying at the beginning of the season, CSA members share in the risk of production and relieve the farmer of much of the time needed for marketing. This allows the farmer to concentrate on good land stewardship and growing high-quality food. In return for their membership fee, consumers receive a variety of freshly picked vegetables every week. Consumer members eat healthy, sustainably produced food and have the satisfaction of knowing where it came from and how it was grown.

Following your email inquiry, you will receive a welcome email and confirmation of payment. Full payment may be made by check or credit card via Paypal. Payment deadlines are listed next to share options below. If you cannot pay via check/Paypal, please email or call us to work out a payment option.

Cost & Timeline

Spring/Summer CSA pick up locations include Tuesday (3pm-6pm) or Thursday (3pm-6pm) at Cates Corner Farm or Wednesday pick up at Carrboro Farmers Market (3pm-6pm).

Fall CSA pick up options are Tuesday (3pm-6pm) or Thursday (3pm-6pm) at Cates Corner Farm or Wednesday pick up at Carrboro Farmers Market (3pm-6pm).

We offer a spring/summer share that will be for 18 weeks (End of April-August) and a fall share that will be for 8 weeks (End of September-November):

Spring/Summer Share contains produce valued at $25 each week:

CSA SPRING/SUMMER 2023 sign-up is now CLOSED.

- $450: balance due March 31, 2023.
- The first pick-up is scheduled for the week of April 25, 2023.
